Well, this is it. The home stretch to graduation. Just 4 weeks left and I'll be spit out into the real world. I'm terrified, I'm excited, I'm clueless, I'm prepared but I'm not ready, I don't want to leave but I'm in that eminent place. Just have to keep an open mind and brace myself for impact. Good grief, melodramatic much?...

This past weekend was the Virginia Repertory Dance Company's last stop on our 5-week tour and my last road trip with the girls. :( Extremely bittersweet. We performed Friday and Saturday nights at the Brooklyn Arts Exchange in Park Slope and had a wonderful time. It was the perfect weekend: got to shop and explore the city during the day, take little naps in the afternoon, perform at night, and have dinner and drinks before going back to the hotel.

The majority of our audience members each night were alumni from JMU and from VRDC that now live in NY so it was wonderful to catch up with recent graduates and meet and connect with alumni we had never met before. We joked that JMU puts something in the water...we all love and help each other out and stay connected for years. There's a very special bond between us Dukes and I love it. <3

Another thing I love is New York!!! It's SO difficult to be there for only 2 1/2 days...I think the shortest appropriate amount of time to be in that city is 5 or 6 days because once you sink your teeth in to the environment you are so reluctant to leave. I've always thought that I didn't have the NYC personality but I felt more comfortable in the city this weekend than I normally do when I visit. *shrug*

I'm currently in the process of locating summer housing for my internship at the American Dance Festival in a couple months. I'm trying to sublet a place near Duke University's east campus. I'll see what I come across but if you have any fabulous recommendations please let me know. :)

Another thing I'm looking seriously at is Washington DC. I have my eyes focused there for the fall but you never know what kind of opportunities might pop up. Since I've been thinking about DC for so long I'd love to make some connections from that area this summer that might lead me to a job. That's definitely what I'm most stressed about. Finding a job and finding a place to live. After I have those 2, I can make it work. :)

It's warming up outside and the trees are blooming and I'm wearing shorts and flops which is greatly improving my mood. Hope it's doing the same for you!!
